Tracking people over time is a common task required in higher education, whether those people are students or employees. A key obstacle is often the issue of missing data for dates when people are not present. The use of skeleton tables provides an easy method of filling gaps in the data to allow for more detailed tracking and retention analysis. This session will demonstrate how Texas State University makes use of Tableau Prep Builder for the creation of skeleton tables, LOD calculations, and other tricks we've learned along the way to track both students and employees over time.
